Coolmoor I

This rare Pullman-Berry has had an interesting lift. It was installed twice, modified by Borvig and Partek, and now it has unintentionally become a greenhouse full of blackberries! Here, the inside of the motor room is seen on 22 October 2023.

Its light blue paint is fading, and the whole terminal is surrounded by blackberry bushes. How fitting, a Berry covered in berries!

This is the tension carriage, with more components resting on top.

A sheave assembly with characteristic cracked faceplates.

This is the crossarm from the return terminal. Both masts were re-used. It is seen here on 26 October 2023.

  1. Is this Camelback’s boneyard? Are there more lift parts there?

    1. It is in storage for future use at SkyTrans Manufacturing, along with two other Pullman-Berry doubles (among other things from other manufacturers). I believe it to be the world’s largest collection of Pullman-Berry parts, given that only six or so were ever built.

    2. As someone who used to work up there. I can tell you that we are prohibited from entering that place even though its right next to a what used to be skiable slope and now became a storages container slope. Im surprised you even got there. I would expect that there is some sort of animals living there.

  2. Where is the skiable slope? That area is flat. I was given permission to go in there, don’t worry.
