Recent Updates

1 May 2024. Today, I allowed comments on Sarsparilla Carpet, Lincoln Express, Timbertown Quad, Eagle Cliff Triple, Brookside Triple, Zoomer Triple, Zoomer Double, Banshee T-Bar, and Peobpdy Double. I hope that I didn’t miss any. How embarrassing to have forgotten them for this long! Oh well. It’s fixed now. Also, for the past few weeks, I have been working on Triple Chair (?) at Highland Mountain Bike Park (which has not yet been published, so you won’t be able to find it yet), so I hope to finish within a few more weeks.

9-12 April 2024. Added Sunapee Express, Spruce Triple, Rope Tow, North Peak Triple, and Clipper Ship Quad at Mt. Sunapee–and remembered to link them. I updated Gondola One, added the new Lone Peak Tram with some pictures sent to me from Dan Egan, and updated Big Sky. Meanwhile, I uploaded 204 pictures of Highland Mountain Bike Park’s triple chair. It will be a while until those are all on the currently unfinished page.

22 March 2024. Added the last entry (oops again), and some new HTML anchors, which make the links from Blanchard Hill and Clay County State Fair to A Tale of Two Pullman-Berrys go to the parts of the page for that particular iteration of the lifts.

21 March 2024. Added Summit Triple, Gunstock, Bucksaw Double, and Sugarloaf. New Peabody/Hong Kong/Gremlin became A Tale of Two Pullman-Berrys.

20 March 2024. Added the last entry (oops), fixed a typo in the one before (double oops), added more pictures to Duckling Double, and added Stratton, VT, Tyrolean Double, and Easy Street & Alpine Doubles. More to come!!!

19 March 2024. Added B-Lift and Bretton Woods, NH, and finished Stowe and Mountain Triple.

6 March 2024 – 8 March 2024. Good grief, it has been a BUSY few days! I have solved the storage problem. To inaugurate this new era of A Lift Nerd’s Photographic Dream, I added just under 200 megabytes of photographs at approximately 1.5 mB apiece, and I have started to put them in pages. I finished Sunrise Double, and added Burke Mountain, VT, its Sherburne Double, and Stowe, VT. Stowe’s Mountain Triple page is under construction. Additionally, I have added all of the “Coming Soon” and “Unfinished” notes on Lift Pictures.

Also, I will have a lot more Cranmore pictures soon!!! Goodnight.

13 February 2024. I haven’t forgotten about this website, don’t worry. The problem is still here. I now have pictures for Magic Mountain, Bolton Valley, and Tenney Mountain, plus more for Waterville Valley, Pat’s Peak, and, of course, Cannon. That lovely old tram is still there, its future still unknown. I need to post yet another update on it….

Also, Bretton Woods (and old B-Lift in the SkyTrans parts yard) are 50 years old! Congratulations, BW! That reminds me, I ought to add more B-Lift pictures soon.

23 December 2023. I have not updated anything in almost two months. This isn’t an update, it’s an apology. This website is at a turning point, and has been for at least three months: I am out of memory. I now face a hard choice that I have been procrastinating over for months: Find another way to put images up here for free and get stuck with ads that are likely scams, or I pay an exorbitant recurring fee (and possibly more hidden fees) for a domain, advert suppression, and, more importantly, more memory. As it happens, most of the lift pictures that I own aren’t up here due to a lack of memory. I have thousands of pictures, each approximately four megabytes in size…with one gigabyte of storage. Wonderful. I visited Pat’s Peak today, and I can’t upload any photographs due to this problem. I can’t even finish the unfinished pages! I will have to decide soon. Any changes will happen in 2024. 

In three days, this website will be a full year old! So short a time, yet an eternity to be sure. Where I live, there is no snow right now (nuthin’ a Polecat or an HKD can’t fix), but I hope that all of my viewers have a lovely Hanukkah (belatedly, my apologies), Kwanzaa, Christmas, New Year, and whatever else is celebrated around now. Or not celebrated. Just enjoy yourselves. See (view? read? talk at!?) you all next year. Believe me, there will be more pictures, that I can guarantee!!

27 October 2023. Today, I added Camelback’s Borvig-modified Pullman-Berry double, relocated from Rappahannock, VA.

25 October 2023. Bringing in some Vermont flavor, I added Ascutney and its Sunrise Double. Additionally, I forgot to add that I added Big Sky in the last entry, so I fixed it. I added a few ski areas to the list on Lift Pictures, though some don’t have pages yet.

23 October 2023. It’s been too long since I added something. Today, I added Gondola One, with pictures of some CWA cabins in storage. To allow people to get to this page, I added Big Sky, MT.

10 October 2023. Published Duckling Double after months of procrastination, and added the year to the previous entry (oops). Later, I fixed a typo on this entry!

4 October 2023. Added Slope T-Bar after a…you’ve heard it before.

19 September 2023. Happy birthday to Mama Cass! Keeping with the carpet theme from the beginning of the month, I added Sarsparilla Carpet at Loon Mountain with my new photos from 17 September. Kissing Cousin Double (KC) will be next, I created the page but haven’t added any images yet or published it. Additionally, I revised the text at the base of the Main Page with the site’s new name.

16 September 2023. Added the last entry here (oops). Additionally, I added a new logo for Dream of a Lift Nerd to that post. The old logo will remain in use as well. Aside from this, I added “coming soon” text to Loon Mountain.

8 September 2023. Published “A Lift Nerd’s Photographic Dream is now Dream of a Lift Nerd”.

2 September 2023. Linked Bluster Carpet.

1 September 2023. Added Bluster Carpet but accidentally didn’t link it.

26 August 2023. Updated Loon Mountain and South Peak Quad to show the lift’s actual name: Timbertown Quad. Additionally, I corrected the new information on Cannon Mountain.

23 August 2023. Updated Cannon Mountain with new information, among other things there.

16 August 2023. Added Mt. Sunapee and Summit Double.

13 August 2023. Back at it again, I rearranged and resized the “Lift Pictures” button and “Recent Updates” link, making it a button. They are now centered on the page. Additionally (and this is the good stuff), I began work on a page for Mt. Sunapee! More to come tomorrow, if all goes well.

13 August 2023. Fixed the date on the last entry (I read the date on my computer wrong…how embarrassing!) and added Turbulence Triple after another unreasonably long delay. “Unreasonably long delay” is becoming my catchphrase! Additionally, I added “Turbulence Triple” to the list of lifts for Pat’s Peak. I had forgotten it!

12 August 2023. Fixed a typo at the bottom of the Main Page.

26 July 2023. Added “coming soon” text to Cog Railway Ski Trains. Another unreasonably long delay will soon come to an end…hopefully.

25 July 2023. Added Gusty J-Bar after an unreasonably long delay. More Pat’s Peak pictures to come soon.

24 July 2023. Resized the existing images and added pictures taken earlier today of the new South Peak Quad at Loon!

22 July 2023. Added more information to Veterans Memorial Recreation Area to Replace T-Bar and cited sources, which I had forgotten yesterday (it was quite embarrassing when I remembered this morning). So much for “finished”.

21 July 2023. Finished and published Veterans Memorial Recreation Area to Replace T-Bar. Added two spacers, an apologetic note to the readers / viewers, and some information about image use at the bottom of the Main Page.

13 July 2023. My apologies for such a long delay between updates. Allowed comments on New Peabody/Hong Kong/Gremlin Chair.

18 June 2023. Added “Return to:” links to Little Sister Double, Seven Brothers Triple, Seven Brothers Express, East Basin Double, Kancamagus 8, Lincoln Express Quad, Tote Road Quad, River’s Edge, Kancamagus Quad, South Peak Quad, Peak Triple, Valley Double, Skimobile Express, South Slope Poma, T-Bar (VMRA), Rope Tow (VMRA), Mt. Whittier, Gondola (Whittier), Kancamagus Recreation Area, and Rope Tow (Kanc). Fixed comments section on Little Sister Double, Seven Brothers Triple, Seven Brothers Express, and East Basin Double. Added two spacers and changed the font of the text on Loon Mountain. Fixed a bug on Pat’s Peak, another on Lift Pictures (the Mt. Whittier link), and another on Mountain Chief. 17 June 2023. A Lift Nerd’s Photographic Dream is not dead! Added “Return to:” links to Tram, Tram II (fixing an image and resizing all of them and updating their resolution along the way), Peabody Express Quad, Tuckerbrook Quad (along with fixing a typo), Brookside Triple (as well as adding two images), Eagle Cliff Triple, Zoomer Triple, Zoomer Double, Peabody Double, Banshee T-Bar, Valar T-Bar, Mittersill Double, (adding a word as well), New Peabody/Hong Kong/Gremlin Chair (fixing an issue while the author was at it), and Mountain Chief. Fixed a typo on Cannon Mountain. A busy day!
